Meet shuri
Shuri is an absolute sweetheart. She is great with people, especially children. In true Husky fashion, she has a big personality. She's typically good with new dogs, but she has a tendency to resource guard things like toys and food bowls until she trusts the new dog. Shuri does have behavior and mental health issues that are a major challenge. She has severe anxiety and takes daily fluoxetine to help manage that. Her most intense anxiety is confinement anxiety. She hates being in a closed off space by herself. I worked with a trainer and pet behaviorist for over a year to get her crate trained, but those efforts failed. If she needs to be alone, she will do best in a secure outdoor space. She also has separation anxiety. It was crippling when I got her, but she has made good progress on that and she does well with being separated for up to about 5 hours now. We moved to a new home, and the outdoor space has proved inadequate for her needs. She is hurting herself trying to escape.
