Meet duncan (in foster)
Duncan is a champion of the backyard zoomie. He will tear a lap around the yard and then flop over and roll in the grass like it is the best thing that has ever happened to him.
He is a petite mixed breed, around two years old and neutered. He came to us in June after being abandoned by his owner. The shelter was hard on him from the first day, so he went to a foster home to decompress, and foster is where we have really gotten to know him.
He has done so well there. Duncan hops into the car on his own now and goes into his crate willingly, and both of those used to worry him. He has made friends with the other dogs in the house. Give him a soft place to land and a little room to be himself and the joy comes right out of him.
A few honest things before you apply. Duncan does best in a calmer household, so a home with constant noise and traffic through it is not the right fit for him. He should go to a home without cats. He has come a long way in a short time, and he will keep going with an adopter who wants to build on it.
Duncan is living in a foster home, so visits with him are set up by appointment. Email us at adoptpetersburg@gmail.com to arrange one or to learn more today.
