Meet zuzu

We all know how we get that awww feeling when we see a sweet young dog that needs our help. Zuzu was one of these dogs that was in dire need due to lack of space in a high-kill shelter and therefore, facing the very real possibility of euthanasia

This beautiful girl deserves so much better. We're aware that her awful photos don't make it clear..but this dog is over the top sweet as well as gorgeous!

Zuzu deserves a wonderful home that is filled with pure love and nurturing. Her excellent temperament is a gift she'll bring to a dog-crazy family that is searching for that loyal best friend who will always be by their side.

Zuzu is a cute as can be 2ish year old, 34 lb Wheaten Terrier / Poodle mix that was saved from euthanasia due to her excellent temperament, love of life and very sweet demeanor with both humans and other dogs. She is untested with cats.

Zuzu's breed mix was identified by Houston shelter veterinarians. Farfel's can't swear to it as no DNA test was done. All we're positive of is that this engaging and beautiful girl is absolutely irresistible!

We received the following information from Zuzu's rescuer:

This little cutie is so much fun to be around. Zuzu is so darn sweet and was so happy, with a helicopter tail and big smile, when I met her this morning in her kennel. When we went outside, she walked well on her leash and was very polite to the other dogs. Zuzu is nothing but kind without a mean bone in her body. She'll be a gift to a dog-crazy family searching for a new best friend.

Our sweet Zuzu will be a champ in positive reinforcement obedience classes. She's super-smart and developing (with the help of yummy treats) a desire to please that's so important in learning her skills. We can't forget that Zuzu is a young pup so some puppyish behavior should be expected. She's a great age to begin her positive reinforcement training and general socialization to make her the most awesome adult dog she's so capable of being.

As Zuzu becomes more and more comfortable in her forever home, she'll blossom and become a fuzzy ball of good-will that loves to please. The happier her family is with her behavior, the more Zuzu will shine with her accomplishments.

Farfel's would like to see our wonderful girl in a home that includes her in family time and fun activities (and some bed or couch-time with belly rubs would be absolutely perfect!) as well as taking that extra step to participate in positive reinforcement / force free virtual or in-person obedience classes. These classes successfully teach a smart and cooperative dog like Zuzu the skills to accompany her family out into the world with excellent behavior. Farfel's Rescue is happy to provide a list of approved virtual and in-person force-free / positive reinforcement trainers in your area.

Zuzu has a stunning golden coat that is currently shelter sad. Since she appears to be a non-shedding or very lightly shedding dog (and her breeds would speak to it) Zuzu will require a lifelong commitment to periodic grooming approximately every 8 - 10 weeks.

Farfel's is a huge believer in feeding dogs a human grade, fresh food diet. Excellent food such as Chi diet (chidog.com) keeps a dog's coat silky and shining. It also is an excellent choice for the longevity of all breeds of dog.

Zuzu has been fully vetted and is up to date on all her vaccinations. This support Farfel's commitment to adopting out only healthy dogs. She has also been spayed to reinforce our commitment to a euthanasia-free future in the canine population.

Applications are currently being accepted for this sweet and very loving best friend and can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-res. cue/adoption-form/. If interested, please fill out completely and submit.

**PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Zuzu please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in many cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.
