Meet Charlie!

At just one year old, Charlie is ready to leave his past behind and start the life he deserves.

This stunning merle Australian Shepherd mix was found running terrified along a busy two-lane freeway, completely alone. After a few unexpected detours, Charlie found his way to our rescue, where he's finally getting the chance to be exactly what he was meant to be: a beloved family dog.

Since arriving in foster care, Charlie has flourished with routine, structure, exercise, and plenty of love. Every day, more of his sweet personality emerges, and it has been a joy to watch him settle in and discover that the world can be a safe place.

Charlie is an incredibly gentle, affectionate young dog who loves being around people. He is wonderful with children, approaching them calmly and respectfully, often choosing to simply rest at their feet and enjoy their company. He is smart, eager to learn, and picks up new routines quickly. Whether he's playing with toys, going for a walk, or riding along on a car adventure, Charlie is happiest when he's with his people.

He walks beautifully on leash, knows basic commands, and is an excellent travel companion. Car rides are a breeze for this handsome boy, making him the perfect sidekick for everything from daily errands to weekend getaways.

Charlie is also building confidence every day. He currently lives with three resident dogs who are helping show him the ropes, and the progress he's made in a short time has been remarkable. Like many young dogs, he's still learning that new experiences can be exciting instead of scary, and he's proving to be a quick learner with the right guidance and encouragement.

As with any Aussie mix, Charlie will thrive with a family that enjoys an active lifestyle and is committed to continuing his training and growth. He would love a home that values routine, adventure, exercise, and the special bond that comes with an intelligent and devoted companion.

Charlie has his whole future ahead of him. He's gentle, loyal, playful, and eager to love. Whether he's joining you on a morning walk, riding shotgun on a road trip, or curling up at your feet after a day of adventure, Charlie is happiest simply being near the people he loves.

He's ready for his forever family—and we have a feeling they're going to be very lucky to find him.
