Meet smokey
Hi There! Thanks for reading about Smokey. We’ve had Smokey for 3 years now and have loved him. He’s been a part of our family through a lot of change. Two states, three houses, and two babies. While we’ve loved him a lot, with our kids, we’re unable to give him the attention he needs. Smokey is a GREAT dog in the house — he loves to lounge, sometimes gets the silly zoomies, and wants to always be around his humans. He used to have separation anxiety, but is now great alone for 6+ hours. He also is leash reactive, making it hard to walk him in busy neighborhoods. We’ve worked with a trainer and have mechanisms that work to help him stay on task, but in busy neighborhoods like ours, when he sees another dog, he barks and jumps. With many dogs with an appropriate introduction off leash, he’s happy to have new friends, but we’re looking for a new home for him where he has a yard to play in and won’t encounter so many dogs on leash. Let us know if you might be able to love him next!
