Meet Katniss, an 8-year-old Boxer weighing 43 pounds. This sweet girl has a gentle nature and is looking for a calm, patient home where she can feel safe and secure.
Katniss can be a bit shy at first and will need adopters who are willing to give her the time and patience she needs to build trust at her own pace. Once she begins to feel comfortable, her sweet personality starts to shine through. She enjoys treats and is especially motivated by them, which can be helpful in building a positive bond with her.
Katniss gets along well with other dogs. She will also require a securely fenced yard for the time being, as she is still working on leash walking.
We also require an in-person meet and greet with all potential adopters to ensure the best match for both Katniss and her future family.

Before being rescued, many of our dogs had limited socialization, so they may need some time to adjust to life as a family pet. Older kids are often a great fit for our dogs, and homes with younger children will be considered based on each dog’s individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may take a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of these dogs adapt quite quickly.
