If you're searching for the most devoted and loving best friend ever....Clifford is the guy you want to have around! Clifford is an adorable, scruffy Westie / Shih Tzu mix who is estimated by the vet to be around 5 years old (though we and his foster believe he is younger). Clifford is 15 lbs.
We do not DNA test our dogs, so his breed is simply the vets best guess based on Clifford's appearance.

Clifford made his way to us from a shelter in New Mexico and is now loving life in his foster home here in Boulder. From the moment he arrived, it was clear that this little guy is full of personality, joy, and a whole lot of playful energy!

Clifford is wonderfully social and does great with all people and other dogs, too.
He is VERY playful and on the higher-energy side. He absolutely adores toys and will happily entertain himself or engage you in a game. His silly, puppy-like spirit is contagious and guaranteed to make you smile.

Clifford has cataracts and is partially blind, but don’t let that fool you for a second - this boy gets around just fine! He can see shadows very well and navigates his environment beautifully without ever bumping into things. If you didn’t know, you might not even realize he has limited vision. The vets estimated his age based on his eyes, but both we and his foster are convinced he’s younger. He truly acts like a young guy with his energy level and zest for life!

When Clifford is first approached by someone new, he may give a quick bark at the “mystery shadow” approaching. But the second you lower your hand and let him sniff, he instantly realizes you’re a friend and gets full body wiggles. He loves every person that he meets! Clifford really knows no stranger.

Clifford is also potty trained (his foster mentioned he had a few accidents during the first few days, but since then has shown he is totally potty trained) and while the shelter vet mentioned possible limited hearing, both his foster and our team have seen that he can definitely hear, especially when it comes to a toy squeaking!

Clifford is truly the best of both worlds...a sweet, loving companion who also brings fun, laughter, and playful energy into your home. He’s resilient, happy, and ready to share his big personality with a forever family who will adore him just as much as we do.

Farfel's Rescue would love to see this wonderful boy in a home with a family (older kids preferred so there's no tail-pulling or awkward handling) or active retirees who have the time and open heart for a very loving and sweet little guy. We'd hate to see this social pup left alone all day while his family works full-time outside of the home. An individual who works from an at-home office or is retired would be a far better choice for Clifford who would be thrilled with periodic loving up and hugs over the course of the day.

Clifford has been fully vetted and vaccinated to support Farfel's commitment to only adopting out healthy dogs. He has also been neutered in support of Farfel's work to end canine euthanasia due to overpopulation.
