Rambo is a sweet, gentle soul who is ready to leave his past behind and find a home where he can truly thrive. After being found alone and believed to have been left behind, Rambo has shown nothing but kindness and a desire to connect with people. Despite everything he’s been through, he greets you with soft eyes, a wagging tail, and a hopeful heart.

This handsome boy is easy to leash and enjoys getting out to explore. On walks, he’s curious and likes to stop and sniff, occasionally pulling toward spots that catch his interest. Once he’s had a moment to take everything in, his affectionate side shines—he’ll sit politely, take treats gently, and lean into pets, even nudging your hand for more when you stop. His soft, squinty eyes and relaxed demeanor show just how much he enjoys being close to his people.

Rambo can get a little excited and bouncy at times (he’s got some impressive hops!), but he responds well to patience and positive reinforcement. He’s eager for attention and thrives on interaction, making him a wonderful companion for someone who enjoys engaging with their dog.

He has shown interest in other dogs and may pull to say hello, so continued guidance and structure on walks will help him succeed.

Rambo is a loving, resilient dog who just needs a second chance with a family who will give him the care, consistency, and affection he deserves. In return, he’ll offer loyalty, sweetness, and a whole lot of heart. Could you be the one to give Rambo the fresh start he’s been waiting for?

Behavior Notes:
Per staff 4/6/26: Kennel Presentation: Laying on the bed when I approached. Called his name and he came to the front with soft eyes, ears to the side and mid tail wagging. Offered a treat through the bars and he took it gently. Jumped up on the kennel door.

Leash Skills: He was right at the door and leashed up easily even with jumping up at the door. Mildly pulls on the walk, he will randomly pull towards an area he wants to sniff/mark.

Sociability: After a few moments sniffing and marking around the pen, Rambo came up demand barking at me. I would wait for him to stop and then toss him treats. He did take them gently and sat. He then would jump straight up in the air like his feet were made of springs. I crouched down and he sat in front of me, I was able to pet his chest and when I stopped he nudge my hand for more. His ears were back and he eyes were soft/squinty as I continued pet.

Play: n/a

Dog Interaction: Pulled hard to say hi to Sarge who was a small dog.

Return to Kennel: Went right into kennel and removed leash with hand.

Color Level: Exp Gold

Per finder 4/1/26: Finder believes the owner moved away and left Rambo behind. Described him as being perfectly fine with them (finder), he knows how to walk on leash, malnourished, the finder was able to touch Rambo's food while he ate, and overall friendly and scared.
