Behavior:
Per volunteer 3/31: I met Cherry for the first time tonight. She is such a sweetheart! Very friendly , loved pets and played in the yard!

3/25 Per staff behavioral eval:
Kennel Presentation: She was right at the baby gate when I walked up to the office. Her eyes were soft, ears to the side and mid tail wagging.

Leash Skills: She was loose in the office, easy to leash. Walks on a loose leash through the building and outside.

Sociability: Allowed all handling with loose body soft eyes and mid tail wags. Snatchy with treats, knows sit.

Play: Loved the tennis ball !

Dog Interaction: Did not see any dogs while out.

Return to Kennel: Tossed a treat and went right into the crate without hesitation.

Color Level: Exp Gold

Playgroup Notes 3/24:
Steer test: 5/5 with water. At the fence she was loose wiggly with soft eyes. In the yard she was handler oriented with wide eyes, ears back and tail down.

03/22/26 per staff
I first met Cherry while she was hospitalized at PASE, where she was a favorite among the nursing team. She is currently staying in my office and has been wonderful. She sits quietly next to me while I handle administrative work, calmly asking for pets with a very gentle demeanor. She has also been doing well in her kennel. While I am unsure if she is fully house-trained, she does provide clear signs when she needs to go outside. She is very responsive to attention, offering tail wags and soft licks.
Cherry truly is a gentle soul and a pleasure to have around.

Medical:

On 3/20 Doctor noted: “Update from PASE: neurologically so much better. Food bloat wise, still pretty significant since they weren't able to walk her during the day yesterday to help get her GI tract moving so needs to stay overnight again. With her stomach being so large, it's pressing on her blood vessels making her perfusion not great. Has been super sweet with everyone”

On 3/19 Doctor noted: "Update from PASE: depressed mentation on arrival, received hypertonic saline and reversals (naloxone, antisedan) in case drug induced. Urine drug screen positive for THC. Treating supportively with IVF, nausea control, pain control, and ILE therapy. Hope is she will improve significantly by tomorrow and be able to return to shelter vs go to rescue."

On 3/19 Doctor noted: "Stray reported to be having minor seizures when removed from APO vehicle. Appeared confused, walking in circles, and ataxic. Abdomen appears bloated and firm.

Quiet, alert, responsive. Mildly dehydrated. Food debris in oral cavity. No apparent oral masses or foreign bodies. No murmur or arrhythmia, MM pale pink and tacky, CRT less than 2 sec. Ataxic, falling to the left. Severely distended, firm abdomen

Assessment:
- Severe food bloat
- Ataxic
- Reported seizures

Plan
Dx:
- CBC/Chem17/Lytes:
- AXR: severe food bloat with large volume of bones and other debris, cannot r/o foreign material"

On 3/19 APO noted: "Seized dog that was rolled over on her back not reacting. Dog is wobbly no visible injuries seen on dog. Dog very confused walking in circles wobbling while trying to walk stomach is bloated and hard. Dog having minor seizures while removing from vehicle."
