Meet smokey
I brought Smokey into my home at the end of February. He came from a family that really loved and cared for him. Unfortunately, his owners could no longer keep him because their 2 mo old child is allergic to dogs. My mama heart wanted to help and I couldn’t say no; I graciously opened my home to him. Smokey is a patient, playful, sweet distinguished gentleman at the young age of 2. His favorite past times include car rides, cuddles, and walks. We are a month in and he has been a positive character in my home. I have 2 resident dogs and 1 cat, Smokey has responded well to the dogs but may need support with a cat. Smokey has shown signs of some separation anxiety and barks when I leave for work but settles after 1-2 hours. I have started using the crate for him and that curbs the barking. Smokey really dislikes it when other dogs are near his food but will allow me to touch it/be nearby when eating. He really is just a big silly baby who needs a forever home and a lap to lay on.
