Bosier is a Shih Tzu puppy. He is such an amazing little guy! He is a bit hesitant when you reach for him, but when you get down on his level he is happy to come sit in your lap and he loves a cuddle. He’s spunky and playful, but settles in your lap or beside you or even in his bed. He loves his toys, and is very consistent with using pee pads.

Although he LOVES his brother, he’s happy to be separated from him. They do sleep together at times, but then also nap independently especially with the humans in the home. He’s eating and drinking readily. The other dogs in the house eat at breakfast and dinner, and he does well but being a puppy, he gets distracted easily. He and his brother eat in their area so they can finish without the temptation of toys. He was a champ in the bath and is all around pretty quiet. He doesn’t bark much, but does let you know when the front door is opened when someone comes home.

He’s very respectful of the other dogs in the house and of food. He only needed 1 warning to stay away from other dogs when they eat. He has no interest in chasing cats unless they run but one cat who runs once he gets close it’s clear he just wants to sniff. Bosier sleeps in a human’s bed, if he has a choice. He sleeps up on a pillow, usually where the fan can hit him a bit. He sleeps all night hardly moving. During the day he will sleep in his bed or on the couch if someone is on it. He LOVES to sleep with any person who will let him!

He potties outside first thing in the morning and after playing during the day. He doesn’t have the hang of announcing that he has to go out, but is using the potty pads consistently inside. Of course, he may need a little help in a new environment. He hasn’t been around any kids younger than 15. He does jump, so little kids may get overwhelmed at first, but he’s such a low rider with his little legs, it probably wouldn’t be a huge problem, especially since he takes direction quickly. He’s perfect around other dogs who are relaxed and respectful. He rides well in a car. Bo is a champion fetch boy! He plays fetch like a retriever and will do so for long periods if you let him! He constantly brings the ball back and knows to drop and sit for his next throw! He also loves his stuffies and plays all day between his naps! He is truly a wonderful puppy! Most of the challenges you face with puppies are already worked through!!

Whoever gets this guy will be so lucky! He’s a dream!!!

Please remember that none of our dogs arrive fully trained. Most come from tough or uncertain beginnings and may have never lived in a home or known basic routines. That means:

✧ They are not potty trained on arrival. Most dogs regress in potty training when moving to a new environment.

✧ They may lack basic manners (like leash walking or appropriate chewing).

✧ They’re learning, growing, and doing their best—but they will need patience, structure, and compassion to succeed.

The majority of these pups have lived in the confinement of a cage or kennel run for most - if not all - of their lives. Because of this, we strongly discourage the use of crates for anything other than vehicle transport. They deserve the chance to decompress and learn what true freedom and comfort feel like.

Our amazing foster homes work hard to start these dogs on the right path, but they are rescues, not finished products. These dogs need time, consistency, and a loving home willing to meet them where they are.

Also, breed designations are our best guesses based on appearance and behavior. We can't guarantee breed, size, adult weight, or coat type.
