Meet Papaya! 

Papaya is one of fourteen precious puppies who entered a high-euthanasia shelter with their mama. When their mom developed mastitis, Papaya and most of his siblings had to be bottle-fed — and this sweet boy has blossomed ever since.

Papaya has a gentle, tender personality. He can be a little shy at first, but once he feels safe, he is incredibly affectionate and loving. He absolutely adores cuddles and will happily snuggle into your arms or curl up beside you for a cozy nap.

Unlike some of his more energetic siblings, Papaya is on the calmer side and not very vocal. He has a quiet, easygoing nature that makes him such a peaceful presence. He enjoys playing with his siblings but is just as content settling down for quiet affection and one-on-one time with his people.

Because he’s still young, Papaya is at a wonderful age to grow and adapt beautifully in just about any home. With patience, love, and proper introductions, he should do well with dogs, cats, kids, or as a solo pup soaking up all the attention. He will thrive in a home that gives him reassurance and lots of snuggles.

Papaya will be available for Foster-to-Adopt (FTA) on 3/6 at the earliest, with preference being between 3/11–3/18.

What does Foster-to-Adopt mean?

It means you bring Papaya home as a foster while he finishes up any remaining vetting (such as vaccines or spay, if age-appropriate). Once his vetting is completed through our rescue, the adoption gets finalized. It’s a great way to ensure a smooth transition while we complete his medical care!
