Meet Runi! This shy, petite girl is estimated to be around 1 year 6 months old. Runi arrived at the shelter after a kindhearted passerby saw her running loose in the street and thought she may have been hit by a car. Luckily, a medical exam at the shelter found she was miraculously uninjured and in good health!

Runi is a new arrival at the shelter and is understandably feeling a bit shy, but she was friendly and well-mannered for her medical exams. Runi would love to find a loving home where she can have time to decompress from her stressful shelter stay! As a young dog, Runi would benefit from an active household with plenty of walks, exercise, and playtime, as well as basic behavioral training to reinforce her good manners.

BEHAVIORAL NOTES

Per staff 2/25: "Approached Runi in her kennel. Was sitting upright with wide eyes, tail tucked under her, averting gaze from me. Sitting still, did not approach front of kennel but perked ears when she saw me."

Per finder 2/25: "Very good [around strangers], friendly, shy, scared."

MEDICAL NOTES

Per vet exam 2/25: "SUBJECTIVE: Finder thinks dog may have been hit by a car. OBJECTIVE: Eyes - scleral injection OU. Ears WNL. Mouth - MM pink, healthy dentition w/ mild staining. Skin, LN WNL. No bruising or abrasions to suggest HBC or other trauma. Heart, lungs auscultate WNL. Abdomen - soft, non-painful. No lameness noted at a walk. No swelling or instability noted on brief orthopedic exam. BAR. Plan - There are no obvious signs of HBC noted on initial physical exam. To continue to monitor but, at this time, dog is medically cleared for all pathways."

Per triage exam 2/25, Runi was noted to weigh 53 pounds with a body condition score of 5/9, and was estimated to be 1.5 years old. She is an intact female. Her teeth were noted to be slightly stained. She had no fleas, but had some dander. She was BAR and friendly during this exam.
