Four months old.
One missing leg.
A whole lot of sass.
And absolutely zero self-pity.

Socks is an Australian Shepherd mix who has already overcome more in her short life than most dogs ever will. After being hit by a car and suffering a broken leg that couldn’t be repaired, she had to have it amputated. And do you know what she did?
She got up.
She ran.
She played.
She lived.
And she is thriving!

This girl does not see herself as “missing” anything. She zooms. She wrestles with the other dogs. She loves.to chase toys. She keeps up with the other dogs like a tiny, determined little rocket on three legs. 💥

She is full of puppy energy, great with other dogs, super smart (hello, Aussie brain), confident and resilient. And a little bossy 😜

Socks is very much an Australian Shepherd. That means she’s active, busy, and yes… she does like to nip in typical herding-breed fashion. It’s not aggression — it’s instinct and puppy behavior — but because of that, we recommend a home without young children, we are working on it, but we haven’t broken the habit yet.

She will thrive with:
