Meet Harry!

Harry is still getting settled in, so we’re just beginning to learn who they are. Right now, everything is new—new people, new sounds, new routines—and we’re giving them time to relax, decompress, and show us their true personality at their own pace.

We don’t have much background information or many personality notes yet, but we’ll be updating their profile as we get to know them better. Every day reveals something new, and we’re excited to learn all the little quirks, preferences, and habits that make them unique.

His foster says "He absolutely loves to play, always welcome me home with a toy in his mouth since day one. Playing with him has really helped him to trust me, specifically tug o war, I think that’s his love language haha. Harry Loves to go outside, after 5 days he barely pulls on the leash now, we’ve been training everyday, although there still much room for improvement. He is VERY smart and picks up commands quickly. He also knows way more commands than I realized for a shelter dog, such as stay, wait, and shake. For example, I will usually put his food in front of him and ask him to wait, even I leave the room for a minute, the food is still untouched until I say ok is when he starts eating. We often practiced sitting before my opening any door, and only when I so okay he will come out instead of rushing and pulling on the leash. I think if his future handler is a dog person who wants to work on tricks and overall obedience training, Harry has all the basics down already! Only one week in, he has been way more vocal than day 1, he loves to communicate (not barking but more like whining noises). He’s sleeping position is still curled up like a donut, which I think indicates that he doesn’t fully trust his environment yet. Zero food aggression, very patient and tolerant of things dogs usually don’t like such a showering and wiping his paws (after going outside). ".

He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and has had preventative treatments to ensure he is ready for his next steps.
