Meet obi
Obi is what we lovingly call a gentle giant. This big, handsome boy has completely stolen the hearts of everyone at the shelter. He’s so adored that he often takes little strolls through our offices just to say hello, and those daily visits are truly the highlight of our day. Obi is playful, incredibly sweet, and happiest when he’s with his people. He loves a good chew toy, a comfy place to relax, and has absolutely no idea that he’s not a lap dog, but we don’t have the heart to tell him otherwise.
Obi also spent time in a foster home, where he showed just how affectionate he truly is. His fosters described him as a devoted cuddler who loves being close and soaking up attention. As a senior, Obi doesn’t need much, just a soft place to rest, familiar faces to love, and someone who will choose him for his golden years. He’ll do best in a home with older children and as the only dog. He’s not a fan of cats, but he has so much love to give, and we hope someone will see him not for his age, but for the wonderful companion he’s ready to be.

We are a same-day adoption center, and an application does not put you on a list or hold an animal for you. If they are in Wantagh or in a foster home, please submit an online application and our team will reach out to further discuss the adoption process. Prior to adoption, all of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and given their age-appropriate vaccines.
