Meet santi
Santi was initially adopted out of the NYACC back in 2024 but unfortunately surrendered back to the shelter a year later due to "separation anxiety."
Santi was diagnosed with a neuromuscular injury to her T3 on her spinal cord. Since the shelter didn't have the medical resources to assist her, she was scheduled to be euthanized in May. We were able to find a foster and rescue her hours prior to her deadline! You can read more about her amazing story in the Dodo.
Santi had seen a neurologist and is currently scheduled to see the AMC rehabilitation team to help her improve her condition and live her best life.
Santi is a loving, high energy, intelligent, and highly trainable dog who is on a re-homing journey for a second time.
As far for the separation anxiety, we haven't seen more than 20 minutes of barking when she is left alone, and she is continuing to get better with it while adjusting to her new environment.
She would be the perfect match for someone looking for a loving and gentle companion who also loves snuggling.
Adoption fee is waived due to Santi's medical needs.
