Meet Brownie, the big dog with a big personality who loves treats and everyone he meets. Brownie is a cream-colored gentle giant Labrador/Mixed Breed boy who is happy all the time and eager for a new home and family. Brownie came into rescue as an owner surrender for reasons unknown. He is around 8 years old, weighs in at 70 pounds, so he is a big dog (61-90 pounds) but gentle as a lamb and already well-behaved on a leash. Dogs and children are perfect companions for Brownie. It is not known if Brownie is comfortable with cats.Brownie is learning that being a good boy at home means learning his manners and he is hard at work absorbing house rules while he continues to perfect leash walking. He is currently housetrained, but it is important to remember that rescue dogs may have accidents as they transition to a new home, so Brownie will benefit from patience and those delicious treats. If crate training is planned, Brownie deserves a crate that is big enough for him to turn around, stand in and lie down. Crates need to be warm welcoming places and must never be used for punishment. Roll out the red carpet, grab a leash and hiking boots, or just stroll around the neighborhood with Brownie and watch him make new friends wherever he goes.
