Emmett is a truly special boy with an even more special heart. When a neighbor moved away and sadly left him behind in the backyard to fend for himself, one of our amazing team members stepped in immediately to make sure he was safe. Since then, Emmett has been cared for, loved, and shown what it means to be part of a family — and he’s blossomed.

Emmett is about two years old and weighs around 60 pounds. He’s a sweet, gentle, and affectionate boy who gets along wonderfully with other dogs, kids, and even cats. He’s house trained, walks nicely on a leash, and has the kind of easygoing personality that makes him a joy to have around.

This handsome guy is ready for his forever home and will make a loyal, loving companion for just about anyone. Emmett has already been through enough — now he deserves a family who will never leave him behind again.

Paws of Dixie Animal Rescue adopts in the New England area. Our adoption fee includes the spay/neuter, up to date shots, Microchip, Alabama Health Certificate, and the transport service to get the new family pet to you.

The pets are delivered by a licensed transporter.

COMPLETED APPLICATIONS TAKE PRECEDENCE OVER INQUIRIES. If you are interested in adopting, the FIRST step is to complete an application.

Please be advised that our volunteers are busy rescuing, transporting, and caring for our animals. We will respond to your application as soon as possible. Upon review of your application, the rescue in AL will contact you, so you can ask any specific questions that you may have.

NOTE: All Paws of Dixie animals are located in AL foster homes. They will be transported north after adoption.

If there is more than one decision maker in the home, all of them should be in agreement.
