Dale and Tucker came to us after being trapped by animal control—two scared little pups who hadn’t had much, if any, positive exposure to people before arriving. At just around four months old, they’re still babies, but ones who missed out on the early socialization that most puppies get. Because of that, the world is still a pretty big, confusing place for them.
Both boys are incredibly sweet and gentle-natured, but they’ll need adopters who understand what it means to help a shy or skittish puppy grow into a confident adult dog. They’ll startle at new sights and sounds, hang back when unsure, and rely heavily on patience and routine to learn that life isn’t so scary after all.
Dale is the braver of the two—he’s curious, a little quicker to investigate, and often the one Tucker looks to for reassurance. Tucker is more timid and reserved, preferring to observe before joining in. Both will benefit from slow introductions to new experiences, positive reinforcement training, and plenty of one-on-one time to build trust.
