Meet sherbet
Sherbet is a 2-year-old, 65 lb boxer/pit bull mix who arrived at the shelter after living much of his life on a chain. He came in underweight with visible scars from fly strike, but despite everything he has endured, Sherbet has held onto a bright, hopeful spirit and a deep desire to connect with people.
He is energetic, playful, and absolutely loves the chance to stretch his legs and enjoy freedom. Once he’s had a chance to burn off some energy, Sherbet happily leans in for affection and clearly wants to build a bond with his people. With consistency and care, he’s already showing just how much potential he has.
Sherbet is also making great progress with basic training. He’s been working on “sit” and is catching on quickly, even starting to offer it on his own once he understands what’s being asked. He can get a little bouncy when excited, but he remains gentle and receptive to guidance.
He is comfortable with other dogs with proper introductions, and continued positive experiences will help him keep building confidence and social skills.
Sherbet is looking for a home that can offer structure, patience, and kindness. He deserves the chance to live indoors, learn new things, and be part of a family who sees the incredible dog he is becoming.
