Meet Wendy - a sweet, beautiful girl who is blossoming with love and care in a foster home!When Wendy first arrived at the kennel, she was in rough shape. She had a tar-like substance on her face and skin irritation and was understandably shut down, scared, and unsure of the world around her. Since moving into a foster home, she’s already begun to heal, decompress, and slowly gain confidence, and it’s been wonderful to see her sweet personality emerge!Wendy is a super sweet, wiggly girl once she’s comfortable. She loves playing with toys—especially stuffies, which she enthusiastically “unstuffs.” Wendy loves spending time with her people and she enjoys attention and gentle pets, and has become quite the cuddle bug!In the home, she has had no accidents, and she sleeps calmly in her crate. If left out while her person steps away, she may whine or bark briefly, but she settles with reassurance and routine. She enjoys her meals and is treat motivated, already knowing sit and paw. On leash, she walks nicely with only a little pulling. For her play group assessment she was social in a gentle/dainty way; she’s seen the other dog in foster home through a baby gate and has been calm and mostly minded her own business. At first, Wendy could be sensitive about fast movements especially around her head/neck, but she has gotten a lot more confident and is comfortable being handled by those she`s familiar with now. Overall, Wendy is a truly sweet girl who is learning that the world isn’t such a scary place. She just deserves a home where she can continue to feel safe, cared for, loved, and where her gentle heart can keep blossoming.
