Carolyn is a timeless, easygoing senior who proves that the best dogs truly do get better with age. At around 10 years old and weighing about 45 pounds, Carolyn is calm, polite, and quietly wonderful in all the ways that make a house feel like home.
She has a naturally gentle demeanor and prefers a slower, relaxed pace. Carolyn walks beautifully on leash using just a collar and leash, making daily strolls peaceful and enjoyable. She is housebroken, crate trained, and knows several cues including sit, wait, come, paw, and leave it. She is the definition of a well-mannered lady.
Carolyn enjoys simple pleasures. She loves toys, especially Kongs, Nylabones, antlers, and an occasional game of ball. She is content spending her days nearby, soaking up companionship without demanding constant attention. While she can be a little timid at first, she settles in easily and bonds deeply once she feels safe.
Due to her age, Carolyn is a bit stiff and slower on stairs and may need help getting onto furniture or into vehicles. She does not jump up uninvited and waits patiently unless encouraged. At night, she sleeps soundly through the evening and is happiest when allowed to be close to her people.
Carolyn has done wonderfully with other calm animals. She is gentle and respectful with senior dogs and has shown excellent behavior with cats. She will occasionally bark to communicate her needs, whether she needs to go outside, is ready for a meal, or would simply like some affection.
Her foster describes her as the easiest foster dog they have ever had, a truly special girl who fits seamlessly into a quiet, loving home.
