Love Has Arrived in Wisconsin and Is Settling In

Love came to Mutt Life Dog Rescue from a high-risk shelter in Arkansas, where she spent nearly her entire puppyhood after arriving at just around five weeks old. As part of the Packer Litter of five, Love waited months for her chance to leave the shelter behind. She has now safely arrived in Wisconsin and is settling nicely into her foster home.

Meet Love

Love is a tricolor Lab mix with a heart as big as her name. She is approximately seven months old and weighs around 35–40 pounds. Despite her rough beginning, Love is sweet, friendly, and affectionate. She is dog friendly and kid friendly. While she has not been cat tested, she is still young and would likely do well with cats given proper introductions.

Having grown up in a shelter environment, Love is just beginning to learn the basics of home life. She will need continued help with potty training, crate training, and leash manners. Love is eager to learn and will thrive in a home that can provide patience, consistency, structure, and plenty of love.

𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐅𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫: 𝗟𝗼𝘃𝗲 is doing great. She is careful with new things and grows more confident every day. She’s a sweetheart who loves to snuggle or simply sit by your side. Very loyal and attentive, she comes when called and even offers a paw sometimes. She listens well to basic commands and is doing wonderfully with potty training. Love does great in her kennel and has the cutest habit of gathering her toys into one little pile maybe a huddle

Adoption fees include the cost of spay/neuter procedure, up to date dewormer, vaccinations, and heart worm prevention (age appropriate).

ADOPTION PROCESS:
1.) Apply: Fill out adoption application completely and submit all necessary documents.
2.)Application Decision: approved applicants will be notified via phone call and email.
​3.)Foster-to-Adopt Trial Period: after approval, you have the opportunity to do a meet and greet and bring your dog home! You get a 5 day foster-to-adopt (FTA) period to make sure its the right fit.
4.) Final Decision: By the end of the FTA period, please let us know your final decision to adopt or return the dog to our rescue.
5.) Home Visit: After the adoption process we conduct a home visit either in person or via zoom meeting to ensure that everything is going well with the transition and to answer any final questions you may have.
6.) Neuter/spay for puppies: for dogs who are not fixed at the time of adoption, we will reimburse $150 for the procedure once we receive proof of spay/neuter. We recommend going to HAWS Snip Clinic in Waukesha, WI or Wisconsin Community Veterinarian Center in Madison, WI for the most affordable option. If you would like to go through your veterinarian or another location, that works too!
