Meet rollie pollie
Rollie Pollie was found as a stray in NYC and arrived at our rescue on 1/2/2026. He's estimated to be about 10(ish) years old, 66lbs, is neutered, heart worm negative, and up-to-date on vaccinations. He has some old man lumps and bumps that we'll have looked at by our vet in January. As a senior, he has arthritis and we've started him on joint supplements but he will likely need medication too.
Rollie was an office dog at the NYC shelter and was reported to be calm, friendly, wiggly, non-reactive, and liked to nap. Shelter staff said he greeted another dog at the gate with neutral body and hackles raised, then disengaged and didn't re-approach.
He just got here so we’re still getting to know him but can confirm that he’s friendly, sleeps a lot, and is quite a beefcake! He has not been reactive to the other dogs walking by his kennel or when he walks by theirs. He appears to be fully potty trained. He doesn't enjoy being crated and tries to get out, so he'd probably appreciate someone who is home most of the time. He likes his roomy kennel suite better but does need an extra enticing treat to convince him to go back in. 😋
