Matilda was found as a stray in SC. We pulled her from the shelter and she arrived in NH in October. She’s just over a year old now, 51.6 lbs, has short legs and lots of rolls, and our guess is she's part bulldog. She’s spayed, heartworm negative, and up-to-date on vaccines.

She is SO sweet and gentle and polite. She loves stuffed toys, treats, chewing on Benebones, has the silliest zoomies, and does well with handling/grooming.

Matilda has been doing well meeting new people, including children. She is sometimes shy at first but warms up quickly. She knows “sit” very well, sits at doors to go out, is learning how to take treats gently, and has completed Life Skills Level 1 training class.

🐶 She’s very playful with other dogs, likes to run and wrestle, and is pretty hyper around them. But also respects their space if they get grumpy. Other dogs seem to boost her confidence as well.

🐈‍⬛ We have no known history with cats. She has met a cat briefly and did not show any signs of aggression, prey drive, or seem overly interested. The cat hissed at her and Matilda looked away. So we think it may be possible for her to live with dog-savvy kitties.

She’s still not sure about car rides and has to be picked up to go in or out of vehicles, though she’s very calm when in the car. She does fine when crated. She still needs to go out every 2-3 hours to avoid accidents right now (potty training can be challenging in a kennel environment).

Her right eye has a cloudy spot in it, which our vet thinks might be congenital or from an old puncture to her eye. Either way, she does have visibility in that eye and it isn’t cause for concern, but her vision likely has a blurred spot in it. It doesn’t affect her cuteness though! 🖤
