Meet jax toy loving gentleman
JAX is his name and he identifies as a happy-go-lucky Whip-Pitt Boxer Boy. This boys love for a toy, meeting new people, and sneaking sweet kiss is what makes him really shine. He has such a wonderful temperament and is an easy-companion.
Jax is estimated to be 2-years-old, he weighs 40-pounds, and as mentioned- we suspect he is a Whip-Pitt (see what we did there?) Basically, he is a sweetheart who looks like someone mixed a Whippet, a Pittie, and a hint of Boxer, then sprinkled in just the right amount of sunshine. This boy is gentle, friendly with new people, and naturally attentive- one of those dogs that greets you like an old friend.
Spoiler- the video makes him even cuter. Go see it, then return for the full scoop on Jax

Jax is fostered in a multi-dog home and although he enjoys other dogs, he could happily be an only dog. Jax toys with toys like they’re his personal hobby and he can easily self-entertain, tossing his toy around for fun, or quietly enjoying a chewie toy while you work. He’s smart, eager to please, and almost certainly going to be very easy to train.
When its time to hit the streets or trails together, Jax is ready! He has basic leash skills and greets new people with soft joy, never overwhelming, always polite. He will sneak a soft kiss but is never going offend anyone coming in too hot and heavy. He’s affectionate without being clingy, curious without being chaotic, and has the kind of happy energy that makes him an ideal everyday sidekick. When meeting new dogs, his approach is friendly but he is hoping playtime is on the agenda. Jax isn’t a wild play-style kind of guy. He’s not into high-energy, non-stop wrestling or roughness. A calm, easygoing female dog would be a lovely match for him, or he’d be perfectly happy soaking up life as your one-and-only.
What is his one “No thanks?” Cats. No cats for Jax, please. He is a good boy but cant quite understand why these furry friends do not want to play with him. We tried explaining but he still thinks he could change their mind. Silly dog.
While it’s not an absolute no, Jax isn’t the best fit for a true apartment lifestyle. When left alone for too long, he can whine or fuss. With that said, a townhouse or condo with a yard could be workable with a routine and a little patience in the beginning as he learns he doesnt need to whine or worry because his people are always coming home. But ideally, a house with a yard for zooms, stretches, and mid-day sniff breaks would give him his happiest life.
Why will you love him? Jax is that rare blend of sweet, playful, sensitive, and attentive. He’s ready to be someone’s right-hand-man and everyday adventure buddy. He brings easy companionship, sunny energy, and an eager heart to learn whatever you want to teach him.
If you’re looking for a gentle, people-loving, toy-loving, happy-go-lucky dog with the kind of personality that settles right into your life… Jax is exactly the boy you’ve been hoping for!

At our 2 acre Texas based property, we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group training and socialization play groups helping them stay confident, well rounded, and adoption-ready.
