Bitsy is a 7½-pound Terrier/Yorkie mix who came from a backyard breeder situation (along with her brother, Benny) and is just beginning to learn what it feels like to be safe and loved. Right now, she’s very shy—more so than her Benny—but with time, patience, and gentle encouragement, she starts to warm up to adults, kids, and most other dogs.She’s learning the basics of leash walking and is making progress with housebreaking. Bitsy reliably uses puppy pads and is starting to understand outdoor potty routines. She can be left alone for 2–4 hours, making her a good fit for someone with a flexible but not constant schedule.Bitsy isn’t interested in toys just yet and currently has low energy, but she enjoys running in the backyard when she feels comfortable. A fenced yard is a plus but not required.After everything she’s been through, Benny and Bitsy need a calm, loving home with someone who understands that trust takes time.
