Meet brother cole

“Brother Cole — The Dog with a Heart as Big as His Smile”   When you meet Brother Cole, you can’t help but feel like you’ve known him forever. There’s something about his calm eyes and soft presence that immediately puts you at ease. This 2½-year-old, 70-pound black-coated boy has lived through heartbreak but still meets the world with love.   Cole once had a family who cared for him, but when they moved, he was left behind at the Brownsville-Haywood Shelter in April 2025. Alone and unsure, he waited quietly, never losing hope that someone kind would come for him. That second chance came in July, and since then, Cole has blossomed into one of the most wonderful dogs you could imagine.   He’s great with everyone—men, women, and children alike—and has a naturally gentle, easygoing temperament. Cole also gets along beautifully with other dogs and doesn’t mind cats at all. He’s playful with his canine friends but always respectful once corrected, and at home, he’s an absolute angel—housebroken, crate-trained, and never destructive.   Cole walks nicely on leash, knows “sit,” and loves spending quiet time with his people. Whether he’s lying at your feet while you work or joining you for a walk, he radiates calmness and quiet gratitude. He’s the kind of dog who makes a house feel like a home.   He does have one silly quirk—he’s a bit of an athlete and can clear a 5-foot fence, so he’ll do best with a taller fence or supervised outdoor time. But other than that, Cole is just about perfect. With his big heart and steady soul, Cole would thrive in a loving home where he can finally settle in for good. He has the kind of spirit that could comfort others—maybe even as a future therapy dog—but most of all, he just wants to be someone’s best friend.   If you’ve been looking for a loyal companion who will give back every ounce of love you show him, Cole might just be your match. Please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com to learn more about adopting this incredible boy.   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comOctober 31, 2025, 11:32 am
