Meet pomi
Pomi was rescued from a kill shelter. Many of these dogs at the shelter have barely survived the hardships of street life, car accidents, or abuse, only to end up in shelters. But once they enter the shelter system, they often disappear completely from society’s view, living lives no different from death itself.
WEACT's Pomi was found in the Hongseong County Shelter with a completely shattered pelvis. Examinations showed that the injury had occurred long ago and had been left untreated. But what broke our hearts the most was that, even with her body so damaged, she was still cradling her young puppies in her arms.
Pomi, a strong mother who tried to protect her babies even in despair deeper than death.
WEACT performed an emergency surgery to realign her broken bones and perform a bone graft, and Fomi is now steadily recovering.
