In March 2025, WEACT headed to Sancheong, Gyeongnam, in the early dawn after hearing that a wildfire was spreading rapidly.
With a car trunk full of bottled water, pet food, and rescue equipment, they set out without hesitation. From that day, the flames fiercely spread across Uiseong, Cheongsong, Yeongyang, Andong, and Yeongdeok.
As the fire raged, some animals managed to run for their lives, but those still tied up and unable to escape were trapped in the blazing heat, unable to take even a single step.
Even the ones that did flee suffered severe burns and collapsed after enduring the unbearable heat that felt like it could melt everything.
The #GyeongbukWildfireRescueDogs barely escaped death by a few steps but were left with excruciating pain.
And it was there that we met WEACT Rocket.
