Meet Ranger Howie — a 5.5-month-old Black Mouth Cur mix with the brains and heart of a future top recruit.

This brave little soldier had a rough start, but he’s making huge strides in his training. Howie has already mastered “sit,” loves to play fetch, and after his puppy zoomies fade, he’s a surprisingly chill and easygoing boy. He’s fearless around horses, unfazed by loud noises, and enjoys weekly “training missions” at doggy daycare where he learns from the best and plays with his fellow recruits.

Howie is non-aggressive and even respectful toward cats, though he’s still learning they don’t always want to play. He’s working on potty training, crate training, and basic manners — all part of his journey to becoming a well-trained gentleman. Smart, eager to please, and quick to learn, Howie just needs a patient, loving family to guide him to his full potential.

He loves car rides and sits calmly in the back seat like a true professional on patrol. With plenty of toys, playtime, and affection, Ranger Howie will grow into the loyal, dependable companion every family dreams of. Could your home be his next command post?
