Meet Rover – Your Next Adventure Buddy!

Rover is a handsome 2-year-old Black Mouth Cur with a heart as big as his love for adventure. Picked up as a stray at just 6 months old, Rover has come a long way and is ready for a forever home that understands him and lets him shine. He has a natural affinity toward women and can be cautious with men at first; it took his foster dad a couple of weeks to earn his trust. Because of this, Rover needs a patient, understanding adopter who will allow him the time and space to feel secure and build confidence.

Once comfortable, Rover’s personality truly blossoms. He absolutely loves other dogs and thrives when he has canine friends to play with. A good game of fetch is one of his favorite pastimes, and his athletic build makes him a natural runner and explorer. Rover is also a huge fan of water—lakes, pools, or splash time on a hot day—and would make an excellent hiking or outdoor companion.

Rover has lived peacefully with cats and chickens and did very well. He loves going places, loads into the car with ease, rides like a pro, and behaves calmly in public. He is leash trained, well-mannered, and fully potty trained. While he’s not a big fan of the crate, he settles nicely at night.

Because Rover can scale a 6-foot wooden fence, a tall, secure fence or supervised outdoor time is required. An active home or one with another playful dog would be ideal.

If you’re looking for a loyal, athletic, water-loving companion to share life’s adventures, Rover may be the perfect match for you.

He is being fostered in a home in Seguin, Texas. In state adoptions are $250. He can be transported out of state for an additional $300.
