Kevin, previously known as Stetson, is currently in a foster home! Please call to schedule a meet & greet so we can coordinate with his foster (:Kevin is a sweet, social boy who loves to play, explore, and be part of the action. He’s great with other dogs and enjoys trying to get them to play—he’ll even back off politely if they tell him “no,” though he’ll be happiest living with dogs who enjoy playful energy. He’s also good with cats, making him a versatile companion. Of course, slow introductions are still always recommended! Kevin would do best in a home with kids 6 and older. He isn’t mean in the slightest, he’s just a big, goofy guy who sometimes forgets his size. He responds very well to cues like “No” and “Off,” but he needs children who can confidently give those commands so everyone stays comfortable. This smart boy is potty trained and even uses the bells by the door. He’s crate trained, loves looking out the window, running around the yard, cuddling with people or dogs, and chewing on sturdy toys—though stuffies won’t last long with him. He’s still learning basic commands like “sit” and “down,” and he’s getting closer every day.Kevin does best with a little structure during mealtime and treat time. He should be fed separately, as he’ll happily try to help himself to everyone’s food, and some dogs may not appreciate that. High-value or long-lasting treats should be given with supervision or offered separately for the same reason. For walks, Kevin must use a harness, as slip leads or pressure on his neck make him uncomfortable and can lead to nipping at the leash if he feels trapped. With a proper harness, he does beautifully. Kevin is an affectionate, eager-to-learn companion who just needs a household that understands his playful nature and gives him the guidance he needs. With the right family, he’ll shine every single day.
