Though he finds the kennel environment stressful, Oakley shines once he’s out on a walk, showing his sweet nature and staying focused on his handler. He can become reactive to other dogs if he sees them repeatedly in a short time and is generally uncomfortable around them, likely due to his background in a high-volume living situation. Because of this, Oakley would do best as the only animal in a calm, stable home where he can decompress and thrive. He hasn’t had any known experience with cats, so a quieter home without other pets would be the best fit for him. He has not lived with kiddos but has done well with visiting grandchildren! With patience and consistency, Oakley has the potential to be a devoted and loving companion.
