Meet tank

It's time to find a fur-ever home for Sergeant, the sweetest little recruit you'll ever meet!

This playful, high-energy pup is looking for a family with a love for adventure and the time to keep up with his active lifestyle. Sergeant is ready to make the world his training ground and show you that he's a five-star general when it comes to playtime.

Sergeant's best qualities:
-Playful companion: Whether it's a game of fetch in the backyard or a trip to the dog park, Sergeant is always on duty to ensure maximum fun.
-A true sweetheart: Despite all his energy, he is incredibly gentle and loves a good cuddle session after a long day of patrol.
-Ready for command: Sergeant is smart and ready for training. With a few treats, he'll quickly learn the ropes and become the best-behaved soldier you've ever had.

Sergeant is now available for adoption. Could you be the one to give this good boy his final assignment? If you're looking for a loyal, energetic, and sweet dog to add to your family, you can report to ACCT Philly any day from 10am-6pm.

Behavior Notes:
Per Volunteer 9/4/25: When I approached his kennel, he came right to the front of it with a very wiggly body and wagging tail. He was jumping up on the kennel door and then got down when I tried to open it. He was trying to get his head out of the kennel so it was a bit tough to leash, but got it on the third or fourth try with a big lasso. And need some training there – I would recommend a harness. Out in the yard he was an extremely affectionate boy and quite high energy. He likes to run around and find toys and jump up on me for pets. He took cuddles and pets for me all over and showed interest in toys as well. He’s very treat motivated and takes them gently for the most part just pretty eagerly sometimes. Went back into kennel easily and was trying to push his way out with his nose.

Walk-sheet notes:
8/27-Low energy
8/29-Mild leash issues, medium to high energy, Notes: powerful boy that pulls on leash with excitement, Hyperfocused on other dogs, Enjoyed getting petted and gives lots of tail wags

Per Staff Behavior Eval 8/27/25:
Kennel Presentation: Sergeant was at the front with neutral eyes and was up on the bars. i put my hand up to the bar and he did a little snap towards it. i reached in with my leash and he stood there at the front still and patient. he allowed easy leashing and came right out once secured.

Leash Skills: pulls minimally

Sociability: Sergeant had a loose body throughout the kennels and a wagging tail. Outside he was super gentle and timid. he sniffed around and greeted me with a sniff and some rubs. he was social while i cleaned up the yard and rubbed himself against my legs for attention. he takes treats very gently and liked to cuddle up with me on the bench.

Play: n/a

Dog Interaction: n/a

Return to Kennel: he walked right back into his kennel without issue

Color Level: exp gold

Per Staff 8/26/25: high pitched alert barking, hyper salivating, red blood shot eyes. when i put my hand up to the kennel bars he snapped and then started gnawing at the bars (my hand was no where near the bars anymore)

Per Staff 8/25/25 10:27 am dog is very energetic, will try to run free if not got a good hold on leash, no aggression shown, because of his energetic state, use caution
