Meet atreyu
Atreyu is a brave and beautiful 3 year old Terrier mix with a heart as big as his spirit. When Atreyu first came to us as a stray, he was limping on his front leg. Thanks to the care of our medical team, he’s feeling much more comfortable now while continuing on his healing journey. Though he can be a little cautious when meeting new people, once he feels safe, his tail starts to wag, and his sweet personality shines through. Atreyu absolutely loves toys, especially a good game of tug, and he’s eager to show off his smarts with cues like “sit,” “down,” “stay,” and “come.” He’s looking for an adult only home where he can continue building confidence at his own pace with someone who understands that trust is earned, not rushed. In return, you’ll gain a loyal best friend with a gentle soul, a playful spirit, and so much love to give.If you are interested in learning more contact our placement team at the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter:E: Adoption@hempsteadny.govE: Foster@hempsteadny.govE: Rescue@hempsteadny.govT. 516.785.5220#animalshelter #shelterdogs #shelterdogsrock #rescuedogsarethebest #terriermix #brindledog
