Meet Ripley 🐾

Ripley (Rip) is a true survivor with an even bigger heart. He was rescued alongside 15 other puppies from a California shelter where they were all scheduled to be euthanized. Thanks to an incredible network of rescues and volunteers, Ripley was given a second chance at life—and he has made the absolute most of it.

Ripley was adopted about a year ago and has been loved ever since. Unfortunately, through no fault of his own, he now needs to be rehomed due to his owner’s military deployment and work demands, which have made it impossible to give him the time and attention he deserves outside of a kennel environment. This sweet boy deserves a home where he can continue to thrive.

Personality
Ripley is a favorite everywhere he goes—and for good reason! He is so so SO sweet, affectionate, and genuinely happy. He thinks he’s a small lap dog and loves to curl up close for cuddles. He already sits politely for pets and is eager to please.

Ripley loves toys and has a playful side, and he loves water—splashing, playing, and having fun (though he’d prefer to skip bath time if given the choice 😄). He enjoys playing with other dogs, follows his people around just to be near them, and has a calm, relaxed demeanor. He is wonderful with children and is also very good with cats, making him a great fit for many types of households.

Ripley would do well in a multi-dog household with proper introductions, which will be facilitated during the adoption process. Like all dogs, he will benefit greatly from continued training. Training builds confidence, strengthens bonds, and helps ensure a happy, well-adjusted companion.

Ripley’s Rescue Story
Angels for Animals shared an urgent Facebook post about 16 dogs dumped by a breeder at OC Animal Shelter. Two tested positive for parvo, and because they arrived together, all were considered exposed and scheduled for euthanasia—despite not showing symptoms. With help from Animal Assistance League of Orange County, The Fix Project, 4 Paws Transport Inc., SoCal Happy Tails Transport, and dedicated volunteers, they were saved and transported to Rox & Ro Animal Rescue in Virginia to find their forever homes.

Ripley is ready for his next chapter—one filled with love, stability, toys, water fun, and plenty of time outside the kennel with his people.
