Meet beauty

Beauty is a vision of loveliness, inside and out! This friendly girl especially loves meeting new people, chasing tennis balls in the fenced yard, and snacking on her favorite treats--refrigerated unsweetened applesauce, cantaloupe, watermelon, cucumbers, and blueberries. Yum!

Spry and playful, Beauty will thrive with an active family who can spend lots of time with her. She needs a home with a fenced yard where she can zoom around in the grass and lounge in the warm sun. There are so many sights and smells to explore! Beauty also likes to sit at the window and watch the world go by. When you give her back rubs, tummy rubs, and ear massages, she enters a state of total bliss!

Ideally Beauty would live with another calm dog with a temperament similar to hers. In addition to backyard playtime, Beauty needs daily walks (15 minutes are best at this point) and continued leash training. As long as a dog calmly approaches her, she is relaxed.

Because of her lively play style, Beauty requires a home with no small children; however, she would enjoy living with older children. Beauty recently met a 13-year-old and soaked up the love with tail wags and a big smile.

House-trained and crate-trained, Beauty sleeps through the night without a peep. Her crate is decked out with a mattress, pillow, and stuffed toy, but sometimes she prefers sleeping in other cozy spaces throughout the house, such as a soft chair or rug.

Beauty is a smart girl who knows Sit, Stay, Paw, and Come on command. At mealtimes, she sits patiently before her food bowl is set down. She is well-mannered while at the vet, treating the other dogs and staff with utmost politeness.

Beauty also has separation anxiety, and she is easily startled by loud noises, unfamiliar sounds, and unexpected touching. She will bark to alert you to the presence of strangers outside.

Beauty can't wait to find her forever home! Her boundless enthusiasm and sweet demeanor are sure to spark love at first sight!

HEALTH
Beauty is spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative, and up-to-date on vaccinations. She sometimes has allergic reactions that cause hair loss and itchiness. To mitigate these allergies, Beauty is eating salmon food (no beef or chicken), which she is doing well on, and allergy medicine.

HISTORY
Because of unexpected housing issues, Beauty's owner could no longer care for her. A Good Samaritan took her in, and she entered the IAR program.

PHYSICAL
With glossy , smooth black fur and warm chocolate eyes, Beauty is a real head-turner!
