Meet captain
Captain is a 3.5-year-old Border Collie–Australian Shepherd mix, adopted at 12 weeks from a farm in southern Utah. His birthday is June 12th.
He’s an affectionate, intelligent adventure dog who thrives on training, obstacle courses, hiking, and camping. He’s wonderful with children, patient with our baby, has no food aggression, and enjoys rough play while responding well to direction.
Since welcoming our daughter, Captain has become more reactive toward unfamiliar dogs, though he has dog friends he loves. Off-leash hiking is no longer a safe option, and his once-reliable recall needs refreshing. We believe consistent training, structure, and more mental and physical stimulation could help.
He has no known health concerns and is current on vaccinations and heartworm prevention.
Our family is heartbroken that we can no longer give Captain the active, enriching life he deserves. He’s deeply loved, and we’re looking for a home where he can thrive, explore, play, and be endlessly loved
