Meet Sydney, appropriately nicknamed Sweetie!
She is 2.5 years old. weighs about 80 lbs, and is 25" tall. She came to Humane Tomorrow with seven adorable puppies. She was a great mom, but now the puppies are weaned and ready for adoption too. Sydney is still a bit underweight from nursing all those puppies, so she probably needs to gain a few more pounds.

Sydney is a Great Pyrenees and, we believe, a Great Dane mix. Her “gentle giant” personality with a small side of stubborn definitely supports our breed assumptions. She is very relaxed when around her people, but she will need a few weeks to adjust to her new home. This precious soul has been through a lot including being dumped with a litter of puppies. For the first few days in her foster home she was glued to her foster mom, but by day five she was voluntarily splitting her time between her foster mom and foster dad when they are working in separate rooms.

Sydney is leash trained and mostly potty-trained. Her foster parents think the only reason she has accidents is because of all the upheaval she’s been through, and she will continue to improve with a little time and consistency.
She is also in the process of crate training.

Sydney isn’t a toy kind of girl. She prefers to lounge in her dog bed and hang with her people. She LOVES meeting new people and is gentle and friendly with everyone she meets.

She has done fine with her foster brother (Chihuahua) after a gentle but short intro. She has had a few moments of food guarding her own bowl. Understandable since she probably had to scrounge for food when she was dumped and on her own. She will get over this quickly as she settles in and understands there is plenty of food for everyone!
