pixar

Pixar is a 3½-year-old Golden Retriever who came to us after being saved from what we believe was a less than ideal situation. He is truly the sweetest boy, but he will need a patient, understanding family willing to let him decompress and build confidence at his own pace.

We know his breed will attract attention, but please look beyond this and consider what he truly needs. Pixar is very timid with people and will need time to learn that the world isn't so scary. Once he comes out of his shell, he will be your little shadow.

Pixar's forever home MUST have another confident dog to help him learn and build trust. He also requires a securely fenced yard due to his skittish tendencies. If this changes we will update it in his bio but please do not ask if we can make an “exception”.

Things to know about Pixar:

- He is not fully potty trained at this time. To help with this his fosters use a long leash in the yard to keep him safe while allowing him room to feel comfortable because it seems like if you’re too close by he gets nervous to go.
- His crate is his safe space and will be important in his new home.
- He startles easily, so children must be respectful of his space and understand that he needs time to adjust.

Pixar needs a family who understands that progress takes time. We are looking for family willing to meet him where he is at. Although we hope one day his confidence will allow him to explore so much out an about we don’t know when or if he’ll get there. Pixar is being fostered in the Chicagoland area and is currently accepting applications in or within 3 hours of Chicago. His adoption fee includes his vaccinates, neuter, dental (fractured tooth was noted), heartworm negative and microchip. Please note we do not set up meet and greet without an approved and match application as we are not first come, first serve but best match.
