nathan

Say hello to Nathan, a handsome 4-year-old hound/Lab mix with a sweet soul and a heart of gold. Nathan weighs around 50 pounds. Nathan came to us as a stray, and sadly, no one came to claim him. But this good boy hasn’t let that get him down. He’s been a wonderful guest at the shelter, showing everyone what a polite, easygoing, and lovable guy he is.Nathan is a pretty easy fellow to love. He’s quiet and well-mannered, knows how to walk on a leash, and enjoys spending time with his people. He can be a little strong on leash, and when his excitement gets the best of him, he may jump up to say hello. With a little guidance and continued practice, he’ll be well on his way to being the perfect walking buddy. Nathan has a medium energy level, making him a nice balance of playful and relaxed. Overall, he’s just a very good boy who deserves a loving home to call his own. We don’t yet know how Nathan feels about cats, other dogs, or children, so those introductions will need to be approached thoughtfully. If you have a resident dog, a meet-and-greet is required to make sure everyone is comfortable and gets along.Nathan is available through our Foster-to-Adopt Program. This means you can welcome him into your home while he completes his remaining veterinary care, including vaccinations, heartworm disease testing, and microchipping. The good news? Nathan is already neutered. At approximately 4 years old, Nathan has so much love left to give. All he needs now is someone willing to open their heart and home to a sweet, gentle boy who’s ready for his next chapter. Could that someone be you? Come meet Nathan and see just how wonderful he is. To meet Nathan, please email dogadoptions@parmashelter.org and complete a dog adoption application online. His adoption fee is $160. Let’s help him find the home where he can finally put his paws up, snuggle close, and stay forever.
