Meet Winston! ❤️

Winston is a 2.5-year-old, 25-pound Bulldog mix with a short spine and one of the funniest little personalities you'll ever meet! This adorable little guy is silly, playful, and absolutely full of character. Whether he's running around with his favorite toys, entertaining his dog friends (whether they appreciate his humor or not!), or curling up next to his buddies for a good cuddle, Winston has a way of making everyone around him smile.

Winston generally gets along wonderfully with other dogs! He has a unique and sometimes overly enthusiastic play style that isn't necessarily everyone's cup of tea, but he's never shown aggression toward other dogs. He's just a goofy little guy who loves having fun! A home with calm, easygoing canine companions who appreciate his quirky personality would be a wonderful fit.

As much as Winston loves to make everyone laugh, he is also a special boy with some important medical needs. Winston breathes through a permanent opening in his neck called a stoma, which requires special care, attention, and monitoring. Because of this, we're hoping to find someone who has experience caring for medically complex dogs or is fully committed to learning how to safely manage his needs and respond in the event of an emergency.

We understand that caring for a medically complex dog can come with additional responsibilities, including medical expenses. To help support Winston and his future family, The Asher House will assist with expenses related to his pre-existing medical conditions. Our team will be happy to discuss the details of this support and his ongoing care needs with potential adopters.

Due to his stoma, Winston cannot wear a collar and must only be walked using an appropriately fitted harness. His exercise tolerance is also very limited, with walks lasting no more than approximately five minutes. While he certainly has his playful moments, Winston is best suited for a quiet, indoor lifestyle where he can enjoy short bursts of fun followed by plenty of relaxation.

Winston would do best in a home with children ages 16 and older who can understand and respect his unique medical needs. Because of his condition, it's important that everyone in the household is mindful of his limitations and helps maintain the calm, safe environment he needs to thrive.

And honestly, Winston is perfectly happy with that arrangement! Give this boy a comfortable place to nap, a few favorite toys, some gentle companionship, and plenty of love, and he's got everything he needs to enjoy his days.

Winston may look a little different and require some extra care, but none of that takes away from the wonderful little dog he is. He's funny, affectionate, full of personality, and has so much love to give.

We know Winston's medical needs mean he won't be the right fit for every family, but we're hoping there's someone out there who will see beyond those needs and recognize just how special he truly is. He doesn't need long walks, big adventures, or an exciting lifestyle. He just needs a safe, loving home, a cozy spot to curl up, and someone who will embrace every one of his adorable little quirks.
