Meet Tubby! ❤️

Tubby is an adorable 8-year-old, 10-pound tan Pomeranian with a sweet little face and a heart that is still learning how to trust. This handsome little guy has been through quite a bit in his life, and now he's hoping to find a very special family who will give him the patience, understanding, and love he deserves.

After his owner went into hospice care, Tubby spent the past two years living without consistent human companionship, with people stopping by to feed him, let him outside, and check in on him. While his basic needs were being met, he missed out on the everyday love, comfort, and companionship that every dog deserves.

Because of his past, Tubby is currently very frightened of people and has a difficult time trusting and accepting affection. He's not the kind of dog who will immediately jump into your lap or come running for cuddles, and that's okay! Tubby is still learning that people can be kind, gentle, and safe. Building a relationship with him will take time, and his future family will need to be comfortable allowing him to make progress at his own pace, without pressure or expectations.

Tubby will need a very patient, quiet, adult-only home where he can feel safe and secure. A calm, predictable routine and a peaceful environment will be incredibly important for helping him settle in. He would also do well with a friendly, confident small dog who can help show him the ropes and give him a little extra confidence as he learns to navigate his new life. His compatibility with cats is currently unknown.

While Tubby previously lived with two other Pomeranians, he is not bonded to them and is now looking for a home of his very own.

We want Tubby's future family to understand that earning his trust may be a slow process. There may be days when he takes a step forward and others when he needs a little more space. He may never be the outgoing, affectionate lap dog that some people are looking for, but that doesn't mean he isn't deserving of a wonderful home and a family who loves him exactly as he is.

For Tubby, the little victories will mean everything. The first time he chooses to sit a little closer, the first time he feels comfortable enough to relax in your presence, or the day he finally realizes that he is safe. Those moments may take time, but they will be incredibly special.

Tubby doesn't need a busy household, big adventures, or someone who expects him to change overnight. He needs a peaceful home, a consistent routine, and someone with a big enough heart to love him even while he's still learning how to love and trust in return.

We know Tubby won't be the right fit for every family, but we truly believe there is someone out there who will see this little boy for who he is and give him the chance he deserves. After everything he's been through, it's time for Tubby to finally know what it feels like to be safe, loved, and home. ❤️

Tubby's adoption fee is $295, and he is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped.
