maddie

Hi, my name is Maddie Fortune! I'm a beautiful six-year-old Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler and I weigh about 52 pounds.

My world changed when my owner had to move into a nursing care facility. My best friend, Freckles, and I lost the only home we had ever known, but thankfully a wonderful rescue stepped in to help us find the loving forever homes we deserve.

I'm a sweet, gentle girl with a calm nature. Since coming into rescue, Ive learned how to walk on a leash something I never needed before because I had a large fenced yard where I could run and explore. I enjoy going on walks and spending time with my people, but I prefer quieter environments over busy, hectic ones.

I'm still building my confidence with new experiences, so I'll do best in a home with a securely fenced yard while I settle in. Because of my personality, my caregivers don't think an apartment or condo without a yard would be the right fit for me. With a little patience and encouragement, my confidence continues to grow every day.

I get along well with other dogs, I'm calm and well-mannered in the house, and I'm not much of a barker. Ive also spent time around my family's grandchildren and did very well. I haven't been around cats, so I'm hoping for a home without feline roommates.

I'm house trained, crate trained, heartworm negative, and currently on heartworm prevention. I'm also spayed, microchipped, healthy, and up to date on all of my vaccinations.

If you're looking for a loyal, gentle companion who will quietly steal your heart, I just might be the perfect match.

If you're interested in giving me the forever home Ive been waiting for, please email adopt@thezoeygroup.com for an adoption application.
