Meet fitz
Fitz really is the goodest boy. He is 3 years old. I rescued him from Animal Control on the south side of Chicago in Aug 2025. He is so affectionate with people of all ages. In his mind everyone would like to pet him. He is used to sleeping in his dog bed or on mine. He walks well on a leash with a harness, although he loves being off leash in fields or woods or back yards. I am unable to offer him this opportunity very often as I live in an apartment where the landlord requires him to be leashed. We walk several miles a day for many sniffs. Again, though, more off leash would be such a treat. Fitz is such a people-dog, I think he would thrive if his person was around him more than I am able with my job, or if more than one person was in the home.
He is my only pet. He has been to houses and at boarding places with other dogs, and no problems have been reported. Not sure about cats. When outside, he just sniffs mice, frogs and toads. My heart is heavy, but this is the right thing to do
