Meet max
Max is an 8-year-old, 18 lb Pomeranian/Shiba Inu mix. Breed mix is just our best guess.
Max’s coat was in horrible shape when he first came, extremely filthy and matted. Foster mom bathed him several times, and the vet tech removed the mats at the same time he was neutered. Then, a professional groomer gave him another bath and shaped up his coat. Max is now a very clean and handsome boy! It is critical that his new owner provide the grooming care that his long, thick coat requires. Max has one ear that stands up and one ear that flops over, which just adds to his cuteness and charm. He doesn’t bark much but when he does, his bark is more of a honk (like a goose). Very cute!
Max LOVES toys! He needs to have a toy to chew on that he can destroy. He’ll take his toy with him everywhere he goes (outside and inside). He needs to have toys available at all times, to keep him from chewing something he shouldn't. He is possessive of his toys (not food), just his beloved toys.
Max loves to roam the yard and work the fence with the big dogs in his foster home, but he also loves being a lap dog and taking long naps. Max would do best in a quiet house where someone is around most of the time. In return, he will be the sweetest companion and lap dog. He attaches quickly to his primary care giver so a transition to a quiet house will be very smooth sailing.
Max has heartworms because he was not kept on heartworm prevention. Humane Tomorrow will pay for his treatment with our partner vet.
