Meet Archie: This goofy little Pug mix was found abandoned alongside Ethel, who we think may be his sister and/or mate. ( Yes, that's icky, but Ethel looks like she has had pups before and they are same age according to Vet, so...).
Archie is about 1.5 years old and scheduled to be neutered soon. He is friendly and affectionate, and on the scale of "some are pretty, some are smart" he falls on the prettier end of that scale. Ethel is clearly the brains of the operation. That means though that she is more likely to get in trouble (finding weaknesses in gates) and he will follow. Or she decides to bark at another dog and he will take over the louder barking.
Archie loooves people and would love to be a lap dog. He can be nervous in new and unfamiliar situations and looks to Ethel to guide his reactions (she decides if something is safe and he goes with that). Once separated from each other, Archie looks to his handler for guidance, and make avoidance and retreat his first reaction. He is pretty food motivated and can be bribed, but he needs a somewhat patient handler to expose him safely to new situations. He is still learning to walk on leash, he is house trained and rides well in the car, getting in and out of a car aren't his favorites at the moment, but he is learning.
Archie is looking for a home with or without another dog, family with kids is ok - he just wants to be included in day to day activities. He could handle regular working hours, but not as an only dog. If he were to be the only dog in the house, he would need someone home a lot, he would really like to explore life as a Lapdog. He is not very vocal, and could handle apartment living if he gets enough attention and exercise.
