Captain is a handsome 7-year-old Shih Tzu/Maltese/Yorkie mix and a sturdy 30 lbs. He’s sweet, loyal, good with kids, and does well with other dogs. No cats, please!
Captain thrives with routine, clear boundaries, and one confident, dominant owner whom he can look to for leadership and consistency. Once he knows the rules and feels secure, he’s an affectionate companion who loves being by your side.
Captain loves walks and would be happiest with a fenced yard or an owner committed to regular daily walks. He has a history of food resource guarding that has improved tremendously over the past five years. When nervous or overstimulated, he may nip to communicate that he needs space, so an experienced owner who understands dog behavior and respects his boundaries is important.
Give Captain structure, exercise, and love, and you’ll have one very loyal little shadow!
